really glad to hear you are ok and that derek didn't have to go to the scene of an accident for a friend. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Thank god, I did not have to go to the scene, we have been busy enough! I did get a phone call from him though.

Tim, I have your report at work, and will give you a call on Weds, to fax it to you. LIke I said, glad you are ok, and trucks can always be fixed.

Oh yeah, thanks for settling my nerves after the accident Derek. Wednesday works for me, since I don't have a fax machine at home anyway.

By the way, the truck did make it to the body shop the other day, and they should have started ripping into it by now. I might take a ride over there this weekend to see if there's any progress.

I have an update... the truck is now totalled. Apparently the frame twisted bad enough to require replacement. I guess that even with all the front end suspension travel in a ZR2, they didn't design it to flex side-to-side. If everything goes well, I'll have a check by the end of the week and then I get to start searching for a new daily driver.

You can put me inline for the motor as well assuming reasonable miles and you feel confident about the motor. I could use the motor for my Syclone if the buyout is reasonable. I am willing to pay going junkyard prices for the motor.

i spun my one car all the way around and back into a wall. not as bad and flipping on the side but just as much damage. glad you survived

I have been looking at 01-03 Vortec motors, they seem to be asking for $700-900.

gotta think outside the box. Pa has everything cheap. I saw at least 2 this past weekend there because they junk everything, maybe high mile but they are 01+ blazers and pickups there

I put a motor in a 99 Jimmy several months ago.. Called every junkyard in about a 100 mile radius and the best deal I found was a 2000 with 60k for $650. I don't know where you are seeing them for ~$150 but NOBODY was even close to that even for really high mileage engines when I called. I'm in Central PA too so that was a lot of yards that I called.

Tisk Tisk Eastern Pa and poconos has 2 yards that as long as they have the motors they are 175$ if in there running section, 150$ if not running. Ez Pull in New Ringgold and Harrys U-pull-it in West Hazleton. I know because i was there on saturday and about 2 months ago we bought a 2.3L Turbo Ford motor for 150$ running from them for a Merkur. They are very reasonable and most of their motors are yes, over 100K miles unless wrecked young. Price doesnt go up or down depending on size at New Ringgold if its in the running section. Harrys is mainly a crap shoot but for 100$ or less for a motor is a good deal if you are building one. They had running 94 and under style Vortecs for sure at least 3 in the running section when i was there. The new style ones were in the yard . I buy most of my parts and motors at you pull its. If you don't believe me, check the yards. I been to williamsport, you are about 2 hrs from the ones i go to. NEw ringgold Ezpull removes the motor and even put it in your vehicle, its a beautiful thing. my friend is going back to them this weekend because he needs 518 OD mopar trans and at 80$ pulled and put in your truck he cant say no even in resale at about 200+ he cant lose if he decides he doesnt need it

just a question, what trans does the 00+ 4.3L jimmy come with? maybe its worth grabbing and having built for my sy at 50$ if i remove it my self. is a 4L80 in anything other than diesels considering 50$ if i see one

both matt and I have been to harry's rarely they have 2nd gens and engines are only that cheap on special if i remember correctly

Yeah, Harry's is my 2nd home.. I've never seen a complete 2nd gen motor there. Expecially not 99 or newer.

My 99 has a 4l60E.

thats why i stopped going there, but they have had pickups before, i havent been there in about 4 months, NEw Ringgold has a lot more
