SyTyless......for now!
While cleaning the garage, I had to pull the Sy out, and I figured that I'd just take it down to the next driveway and turn around (thinking I only had 1st, so I couldn't go far), but to my amazement, it shifted into second. So, I drove it a little farther, and managed to get second again. Only once did it fail to shift, but it did after a quick blip of the throttle. I checked the trans fluid, and it's up to the correct level, and not burnt, so I was thinking TV cable. Went to adjust it, and found it was adjusted correctly.
My question is: would a trans fluid/filter change along with some Lubeguard (or whatever is reccomended) possibly revive the transmission? I thought it was dead, but apparently second has magically returned.
Also, in the event that the trans is bad (which we've been thinking), are there any tips for removing/installing it without removing the engine? When installing, do you side the converter onto the transmission first, or bolt it to the flexplate? Thanks for the info everyone.
