I am proud to be a syclone owner

I have always been a proud syclone owner but the outpouring of support over the tragedy our little family has experienced this week just amazes me. I always new these trucks made us special people but I think the actions of this community make us down right amazing.

I know that myclone is probably crying as he sees the way this family is stepping up to support a fallen brother. To all the syclone and typhoon owners all over I am proud to be included in this family.

x3. I've been around car groups a very long time. I've never seen anything like this before. Kudos to the SyTy community!!

Re: I am proud to be a syclone owner

My wife and I were talking about this last night. We both agreed that the Mika family was sending money to someone that we didn't know, but for some reason we never thought twice.

I don't think that it's the trucks, though. With Myclone, he translated his thoughts well to the internet and after reading them you actually knew him as a person. After reading his thoughts/ramblings for the last 4+ years and seeing that he had passed I felt compelled to do something, even if it's just passing on some money to his family.

I agree with all of you. Even though our community is very small. This trajedy has brought everyone even closer together. Many have stepped up. SYTY.NET is # 1 :myclone:

This is the only community I have ever seen that has members that openly invite other owners they have never meet in person into their homes during travel to visit or stay if they are in the area..... and/or have gone out there way to help even when it means money out of their own pocket.

Ive always felt that we part of an elite group of people. Safe to say that we all came here first for the trucks, but over time have come to realize it goes beyond the trucks and its about the friends and moments we all get to share.

I also agree. I know not everyone always gets along and some are more annoying than others, like me and all my kill stories and tuning problems, but at the same time this is one of the things I always look forward to going to each day. My wife I swear will probably leave me someday cause shes always accusing me of loving this site more than her. What can I say, Ive been here longer. FWIW, Ive met some amazing people over the years who have been nothing but helpful and polite in person and on the board who would do anything for fellow SYTYers. Its like Ive said before and always will, "Sure we have our guys who are all attitude but IM sure that when it comes down to it we pretty much all are here for each other and ready to help out. I know that if some stranger showed up on my doorstep I would not let him in. Now, if he was driving a SYTY and needed a place to crap, my toilet would be his/her toilet."

I'm a a few different internet forums, two of them local, but I can honestly say that I feel like this board is as close to family as you can get on the 'net. God I love this place!

I was thinking the same thing at work today. I am new here (one year owning a SY) However I did have a GT for 12 years but did not know it was anything special when I sold it in 2004. I am so amazed at the friendships that are built of this site. These little trucks tend to link us together. I cant believe the help I get from you all and even the crap I get lets me know that I have friends all over the world. Thanks, Gary

Re: I am proud to be a syclone owner

People laugh at me when I tell them I still check syty.net everyday (multiple times) and go to the Nats and crap like that - and I haven't had my truck for a year and a half. THIS is the reason I do.

I get asked all the time why I put so much $$/time/etc into a truck that never runs.

This is precisely why. It's a brotherhood in every sense of the word.

Re: I am proud to be a syclone owner

You know it's funny to me that this came up. I have been a member of the LS1 community since '99 and been a member of pretty much every board for them since that time. I have only owned this truck for a year and a half and I still check this board first everytime. I have made some good friends to the point that we keep in touch past the board. We call and hang out all the time. Sometimes we BS about the trucks over drinks and other times we talk about whatever. I'll never get rid of my little black pos that always has something wrong. I love it! This is a real tight knit group that I'm proud to be a part of.

- This is a great group of guys...
- Myclone was an extraordinary guy...
- This story REALLY hits home. It could have been ANY ONE OF US...
- What would we want to see happen if we died? I would LOVE to have this support for my fiance and kids...

Bingo!! I can say this happened to me. Just left my wife at the hospital and she is in the same room I was in when the TY fell on me. This whole few days has been awful for me. I keep wanting to say something heart felt for Lisa even though I dont know her because I know what its like on both sides, sort of. Just cant though, what can you say? I know if my wife or daughter was left alone, it owuld be something else if she/they had this kind of support. Even if I was a rich rich man the things we have done as a group for Lisa and her family and Myclone, would have me raining tears of joy, Ild probably flood the world with it.
