HVAC controls

A/C isnt working this year, no blower, no clutch. Fuse was good, jumped blower relay and that works so opened up the HVAC controls and the mode selector section something has come apart. I have a plastic piece, a copper plate and 1 spring ( I suspect Im missing at least 2 more). I dont really understand whats broken or if Im missing more parts. Anyone have a parts breakdown and diagram for this? Might need a whole new control?

Replace the resistor and relay. I got one at crapozone, and worked fine

Re: HVAC controls

You need the blower switch. P/N 16032480. I haven't purchased one for many moons, but it is probably still available from GM.

In M2 speed position, the current for the motor passes through the switch. This is what burns them up. Frequent use of M2.

I installed a relay array in my DD (1991 S-10 pick up) that utilizes a relay for every speed, but the existing relay for Hi. I did this mod at least 15 years ago, and the HVAC controls have never been out of the dash since. Highly recommended for a daily driver. No more new blower switch every 4-5 years. The "C" relay is for the compressor Clutch. I highly doubt anyone will ever contemplate this electrical mod, but it solved several voltage fluctuation problems, and again, the blower switch is now over 15 years old.

Re: HVAC controls

Parts came in and fixed this today. PN 15-71490 is the selector switch. With the parts missing it would not apply power to the blower switch because no mode could be selected.

Side question: What is the correct factory charge for the a/c??
