How to install and adjust body kit

I have a 1992 Sonoma GT that is just out of paint and we cannot get the lower body cladding to fit worth a crap. Very big gaps, uneven, and we used all the factory alignment holes. I am speaking of the two front corner pieces.

looks really shitty, lol.

You can move the bumper closer to the grill by removing material on the mounting brackets on the bumper where the front frame bolt sits in the groove of the bumper support. The gap between the bumperette and bumper will decrease. I took an aluminum strip and shaped it to match the shape of the fender cladding/bumperette edge and glued it to the bumper cover behind the edge where the cover sits next to the fender cladding/bumperette. It maintains the side shape. The top gap between fender cladding/bumperette to fender is pretty huge from the factory, and meant to match the bumper cover distance.:2cents:

Oh, and IMHO, fit and finish is done before paint.
It makes for an easier, damage free re-assembly.
