How many quarts?

About to change the transmissioin fluid in my truck. Does anyone know how many quarts I am going to need to get it to normal operating levels. Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

If you are just dropping the pan, changing the filter and re-filling it you will probably need about 3-4 qts. I woudl buy a few extra qts anyway. Make sure the trans temp is hot when you check it, usually takes longer then the time it takes for the engine to warm up. You may have to drive it a little too.
