The nice thing about people not knowing about them is it makes for fewer people you have to talk to.

Except for every guy who ones or ever oned a S-10. Everytime i'm at the track I bet there are atleast 5-10 S-10 guys who want to race, and more who just swarm and want to talk.

Now I don't mind it, I love to BS about the trucks, but what gets me is when i'm just going out to dinner with some friends and someone in a completely stock 97 S-10 wants to talk about how much we have in common and how his truck will be as fast as mine someday. I'm trying to be nice and get away so we can go eat, but some people wont let up, then I have to be rude and look like a prick, but what do you do. :rant:

My loan officer at my credit union got an education on these trucks when I did the loan for mine. It went from "You want to buy what?" to "Where can I get one of those?"

I had a chick as mine when I tried to pull a loan for the full amount on a truck I was trying to buy a few months before I bought this one. She asked the year, and I told her 91. She laughed at me. I told her to look up NADA on it. You should have seen her eyes when she read the Poor, Fare, Ex. condition prices. (I believe they were Poor= $10,500 F=$14,500 and Ex= $17,500 This was back in 03. And that was with 50-60k on it.)

You should have seen her eyes when she read the Poor, Fare, Ex. condition prices. (I believe they were Poor= $10,500 F=$14,500 and Ex= $17,500 This was back in 03. And that was with 50-60k on it.)

I think they did the same thing when I applied for a loan. I think the reason I got the loan so easy was because the amount was waaaay below the NADA value of the vehicle. :tup:

I had a honda come up on me hard today. I thought they wanted to race. they just got behind me and I can see them pointing and talking. Gues some people know what they are.
In a year only one guy came to me and know what it was.

I am 1/4 mexican but I look 100%. Most mexicans like my truck but they ask where can I buy a kit for their s10?

On my way to work this morning I made shure I was boosting as I hit the corner hard. The same guy said " Shit, I did not think you were going to make that corner"... then he said "why do you need all those tach's there for" then I knew he knew nothing about cars. He was refering to my pillar. idiot!

:rotf: Haha, that is funny. My ex-girlfriend used to say that she always pictured a mexican guy getting out of my truck instead of me(that was when it sat stock hieght and had camaro RS wheels on it). Now that it is lowered with 17's everyone at my work refers to it as "The G-ride" lol :rotf:

Just went to pick up my son. A guy (I would say in his 40's with a slight accent, german maybe) asked me is that a real Syclone.? I said yes. he then asked me how fast is it. I said low 12's with about 10k in mods. He then asked me the top speed, I said around 145...V8??...No, Turbo v6. he said he seen them in mags but never in person. I felt bad because my truck is a mess. 2 months without a wash. I can honestly say that in a year of owning a Sy that was the first time someone acted that way. How funny just a day after I posted this thread. I took off 1/2 throttle so he could hear the turbo.

I never get looks when I am in my Sy, BUT when I do get one every once in awhile I know its a GENUINE car guy and it makes me feel good. They are the ONLY ones that matter in my book anyway ---

When I wanted a SY I thought I could either spend $15k on a plain everyday vehicle or get a SY for anywhere from 8-12k. And now I own something that is rare and fast. When I try to figure out what kind of car I would rather have, they would all cost me $30k+!!

This is exactly my philosphy :tup: For the performance and uniqueness, nothing else can really compare.
