what am i missing?? how's this possible with only 283hp? Or is that pre-nitrous? Sorry if i'm missing the obvious. Trailor it to NATS so you can race it :tup: Cya at NATS!

no nitrous in nhra (that anybody now about) this truck is N/A V8. the only differnece is its a chassis truck that brings the front wheels about knee high if you want it to. weigh transfer is much better with this truck as compared to any sy or ty.

id love to do that! depends on if we can get everything right with the seat, fuel map and all the extras dad is wanting to do to it. i'll ask him if he wants to do that.

Is 283 the displacement?

no its a base 350 cu in

If Doc has any questions, etc I know Jeremy will be willing to lend a hand. He was #8 last year in SS in the US, I think is #15 or so this year right now. Heck he could give your dad some one on one driving tips at nats in a low stress environment.

Matt, reading about the latest ETs and progress with the truck was fun. It is kind of sad to see this piece of SyTy history change hands, but I wish you all the best in your new endeavors.


BTW- My auto teacher and auto class got a kick out of seeing a 15 year old truck tick off sub-10 second times! They loved the takeoff even more:tup: Some were asking when the next vid would be out:rotf:

LOL the launch was the best thang about the truck! dad used to describe it the truck as a "violent b%$ch" when it launched! LOL

id love to, the only problem is the guy we bought the truck from is 5'7''. if any of you know how tall i am this is a problem. i couldnt get in the truck without my head on the ceiling and my knees on the dash. :rotf:

yeah we wanted to do it but how close can you get without really doin it! 9.004 dang! amazing the response for running 0.015 sec faster :lol:

the new truck is a lot better truck with A LOT less work. its safer and we can definately race it competitively more places. its a N/A LS2 with under 400 HP. runs 10.00-10.30 depending on the weight and class.



i dont think it either but thats apples and oranges.

the new truck is pretty much ready to go with the exception of fine tuning the fuel map.



i doubt he would be interested in bringing it. and YES he does street race it.

the truck was detuned on the launch and ran 6.19 the 1st time he took it to the track. it leaves with 1.5X 60' now so it doesnt haze the tires when he's on the street. runs pretty much the same after the launch as it did B4 just isnt as violent on the launch

Wait... I'm confused. So you're going to be running 9-10's with a stock LS2? Are we talking 1/8 or 1/4 mile times? What it the world did you do that rear end to make it run those times if it's 1/4?

Last time the truck went down the track it went 10.29 @ 3200 lbs and C class of the GT trucks. so i think with the right tune we mite dip into the 9 sec range. and all times are 1/4 mile

Hate to see you guys stepping away from syty land... You and your father were nice down to earth ppl when I talked to you at PTE a few years ago on the way to the nats. Even Mrs myclone said "they seem like nice guys".

Looking at those pics I'm going to say that is not an LSx motor. Look at the heads, gives it away.

Sad to see the Hoover's truck go, bunch of class act guys who let their performance do the talking.

ya know, i honestly wouldnt know an LSx block from a 5.3 vortec block? probably against the opinions of a lot on this board, i know more under the hoods of the 4.6 dohc cobra motors i havent got a clue im just goin on what im told about the truck. one motor should be an LSx block, the other a bow tie block. one set of heads is alum, 1 set is iron.
