hood vents

i cut the hood and installed first of 2 lumina z34 hood vents in the back outboard sides, if anyone cares to see.
huge amount of heat pouring out; can hear the turbo like a mofo now, too.
i dunno how to post pics - i can emailo if anyone wants to see; someone else can post if they care to.
took some real bitchy whizwheel work to only go thru the top layer of metal in most places to keep the hinge area strong, rest was butter with an air bodysaw.

wp, u'll get h20 all in yer electrical badnesses.
thats y i went where i did - pass side directly over air filter, driver over nothing important - water running down wont matter
will email pics as above after i snap a few after the c clamp holding the vent in while my favorite goo jb weld dries.

uh.. where ya been? ians had his on for a long time now...

actually, ian didnt have it first either... his hood was made by jim stokes for his wifes phoon, took it off, sold it to a guy in NC, then ian bought it off him... so ians hood is a real "stokes" hood :p

This was also on my list of things to do, I had actually had a set of Z34 louvers purchased like 6 mos ago, but they destroyed them (apparently) during the removal and I never followed up on it since my truck is down, looks like a nice mod tho, I like the way they are grafted into that hood on the red truck.

woulda been a SHITLOAD easier to put them there rather then where i did...
story o my life.
i emailed to those who asked - maybe someone will post em.
i hadnt seen these before - least i did it differently...
either way, huge amount of heat being relieved from underhood.
cazn also hear the turbo doing it's thing very very loudly, which i am digging.

im nopt worried about the water, I dont really drive the truck and its never driven if there is a chance of rain (3 years of owning 3000 miles) and with no wheels wells, the hodd vents are the least of my possible water intrusion problems.
