Hood rod elimination kits

Re: Hood rod elimination kits

Do you have a pic of where they mount to on the fender? I ask because I have a cold air box and was wondering if there's any interference with anything.

Send me your regular email and I'll forward a copy of the installation instructions to you.

Will this kit work on 2nd gen s10/sonoma? If so, I'll take one if you still have one.

I now have just 6 kits left (out of 15) ready to ship.

This kit consists of brackets and two gas struts, which eliminate the steel rod that holds up the hood.

Kit requires drilling two holes for each of the upper brackets and securing them with either pop rivits (included) or screws, also included.

Lower bracket bolt on in the inner fender lip. Just need to drill a hole in a spot weld.

Takes about 15 minutes to install the kit.

my paypal is philntx@verizon.net
Cost is $85. Includes shipping to lower 48 only.

Im in for one

I received my strut kit today. I am extremely please. I was also pleasantly surprised that the brackets and rods were painted, I thought I was going to have to paint them. A+ Phil. I will be sure to rate you positively also.

I'll take one as well. i guess they can be made to work with fiberglass hoods as well.

if you use the hood shocks i would only mount 1. i had a customer with an integra with a carbon fiber hatch and had 2 shocks mounted and the hatch shot up fast. he has to run back and stop it every time. i have the fiberglass cowl and want to try it also but i don't want to destroy anything, either.:2cents:

if it werks w/1 then you have a spare for when the other goes out which would be a very long time. let us w/fg hoods know the out-come, huh?
