Did anybody else notice that there is one guy buying everything up on ebay. He has 4 sy's that he is the high bider and a couple of ty's. Most of the auctions he has broke the reserve or minum bids. He his also buying up alot of parts. Think it is a big scam in progress or does he just have alot of money to play with. Hope no average guy is looking to buy a truck because this guy is not letting that happen. His user name is CUSTOMRESTORE. Go to ebay and check it out!

I noticed. He placed a bid on a truck I was looking at too. Looking at his feedback it looks like he's bidding on anything and only paying for the winning auctions he likes or something.

Yeah I was looking at his history. Kinda sketchy to me.

Re: Hogging the market on ebay

My guess is he's a car dealer with clients looking for certain cars; he calls the guy looking for the Vette and says "I got a line on a Corvette like you were looking for; $13,000." then wins the Vette on eBay for $10k and quickly pockets 3 grand. If it goes too high that it cuts into the profit margin, he says "yeah, I looked at the car and it was a salvage title." or something to get him off the hook. I don't think its sketchy at all. If someone is willing to spend X on a car and I can find that car for X - $3000, what would you do?

Could be. I wonder what the process is after he wins a car for a buyer? Payment? Pickup? Shipping? Buying cars sight unseen really.

His feed back blows. Most likley a "Classic / Muscle used lot" buying for quick turns like VermontTy posted above. The non pays are clients that backed out at the last minute when he called back saying he has the vehicle and I need XXXXXXXXX dollars, now!

That's what I was thinking. Buying anything of interest and backs out if he can't sell. I don't think you could last long on eBay once your ratings starts falling apart.

Not sure why he raised his own bid or if this is just his max bid coming through?

Re: Hogging the market on ebay

I have sent him a message, but no reply. I would agree about being in the muscle car market but why all the parts? Dude hope you get ahold of him for your parts.
