highway run with a Supercharge TA

friday night i was heading back from a friend of my wifes when she called me up on my cell( she drove her new jeep to show it off) and said there is a TA closing fast on you.........i say ok time to have some fun(thinking it was a punk kid) but little did i know its a guy in his lote 20's early 30's....well we took off from 65 mph.........i pulled maybe half a car till about 120-130.......speedo was pegged out.........so the 130 is an estimate.........and then he walks on by me and pulled 2 cars on me and there he stayed......he couldnt pull anymore..........i guess all and all the old TY held its ground pretty good.......considering its a brick on wheels.........

Nice job!! I'm still surprised by the pickup at high speeds...I had heard these things weren't quick from 60-70mph, but my Ty gets movin!

Just wondering how you knew it was supercharged if your wife called you and said it was closing in.

Doesn't sound like you had any prior knowledge of this guys car by your storytelling. (not knowing the age of the driver)

Good story although, I wouldnt call it a kill.

got to work the next day and a co-worker was talking about his friend with a supercharged TA racing a black typhoon with a white hood on the highway and how it gave him a good run (we are all speed-o-holics at work) i was like he raced me and he said i know, thats why i told you about it..........once they told me it was supercharged i didnt feel so bad getting beat.........

I'd agree with both Jas' and Makaveli on this one. This wasn't a kill for sure and thus should be in off topic on the lounge with somethiong like " raced a supercharged TA on the highway got walked by a few cars, but it was a blast" . And it does seem that people are real quick these days to jump down others throats.............its all in fun............we are on the same team.........

I'll have to check my "Rag Rack" but one of the articles I have at home said that the Sy was the fastest thing period 30-70 or something like that.

The slow trucks from a roll or on top are the ones out of tune.
I know because my Sy was a pig when I bought it (out of tune) and the Ty hauls nuts in the mid and top and I have a respectable MPH up here at Bandimere, even factory...

I didn't mean to sound sarcasstic just that I came in here to read KILLS and was genuinely disappointed.
Then I figured as long as I'm here I would probe the question about the supercharger.

My kills for the weekend: best one yet, 93 vette from a stop, at ~117 he was still 3 cars behind, and a 91 RS camaro that actually knew what a Typhoon was and admitted he would lose before the light ever turned. I gave him 1 car and smoked him. Also some redneck in a Dodge Ram Diesel who thought he would merge in front of me to get on the highway.

I just don't have time to sit here listing them all... or I don't even think they were worthy of discussing...

I dont know why you are ragging him for posting this in this forum not being a "Kill" isn't the description of this forum "Race something and beat it? Or for heavens sake lose? Post it here." Well he said he lost so to me this is in the proper forum. But anyays. Always cool to hear about Sy/Ty's and f-bodies going at it
