i went that route the first time... i had a local guy do it, i paid for hitemp 2000 coating but after 100 miles it already was cracking... waller just pulled them off and i sent them to Jet-hot to do it right!! it was around 400.00 for jet-hot 2000 for the headers, turbine housing, and downpipe...

I sent mine to Swain.... can't remember exactly how much the exhaust housing and dp was though. Thinking around 100-150

So Will & Zach, good results? No chipping cracking fading? A lot less heat? Give us da scoop!

Re: high temp ceramic coating

If you do have them coated, you probably want to have them bolted to set of heads (A good use for the stock heads) so they don't shrink when they are baking in the oven.

Re: high temp ceramic coating

Shouldn't be an issue if you send them off to be professionally done. I know Leroy has his manifolds, exhaust housing, and downpipe coated, and he noticed a big difference w/ underhood temps. Its pretty obvious when you can touch the coated metal after driving.... you can work on the truck sooner also, instead of having to wait for cool down.

Re: high temp ceramic coating

Swain did my turbine housing, and Jet-Hot did my headers. No complaints about either :)

does that affect performance though or is it just a cosmetic mod?

Not sure how an exterior coating would change the performance enless it was heat related performance? I suppose with less underhood temps you IC will stay a little cooler...so yes, it "could" affect performance. A lil.

More heat in the exhaust is more better for turbos.

Actually, more heat in the exhaust is better in general, as it helps increase exhaust velocity. :) I do know several people who had their turbine coated, and with no other changes saw an improvement in turbo spool. I just did mine because it's pretty ;)

Does anyone know anything about polydyn? They are local to me and I have read some good things about them.
