High KR, false or true?

Ive been messing with DM a bit and on top of Poor 91octane CA gas my KR has been hitting in the teens. It is doing it in the driveway in park so Im thinking its False Knock. But ive been looking and tapping on things and tightening bolts but nothing.Ive been reading as much on the subject in past posts and think it might be my Flexplate bolts. But my buddy had a 383 stroker freshly build that rattled at 2500-3200 RPMS.Which is exactly where mine is doing it.His wound up being the endplay in the crank.Would the Flexplate-TC bolts do this?Or could it be th TC itself? What are the main places to check for False Knock? Thanks ALL!!!!! Very confusing tracking this down!!

possible it could be the bolts. Could be a lot of thinks. Did this just start? Check the fuel lines. The heat shield for the DP. if its showing knock in part then It probably is False.

Me personally, I would buy some 100 octane racing fuel and put 5 galons in your truck and run some scans. If you still see KR, most likely it is false.

Make sure your chip is fully seated in the ECM. It should never retard timing at idle.

Jimmy,I had read that before and pulled the ECM and it doesnt seem seated all the way with the Ultimate in there. But I pulled the Ultimate off and put the chip back in and it seats and still had KR.So I guess the Ultimate is ok.

The sound has been douing since I can remember and it sound like its right about at the throttle pedal area so id guess the fuel linesor TC bolts.Ill check them this weekend. Thanks

Also I read that a old Memcal can cause it.How would I know.By a # on it?What are bad and good memcal #'s??

Get some tinsnips and modify the ECM case so the piggyback wil seat properly.

I didn't realize you were hearing sounds.Track that shit down.Could be TC/flexplate,or maybe even a bad bendix.

Make sure the trans case is bolted down tight as well.
