Hi from Oregon

Just picked up my first Typhoon and thought I would share a picture.

I was invited to drive a Typhoon when GMC was doing mini AutoX demo's at Pleasenton CA fairground in 91 or 92 and I loved it. 18 years later I find this neglected little gem cheap and couldn't resist.

Over all it's sound with a few small issues that I hope to address quickly. SYTY.NET has been a great source for information. Thanks

Wow sounds like I got very lucky! I figured people were going to snag it quick when it was listed for $4500. But I was really shocked when he accepted $3500.
So far I love the Typhoon and a big plus is my wife and kids really like it also!

Here's the repair list to date.

1. Replaced failed driver side window motor. (He never told me but I found a brand new one in the back seat!) $0
2. Replaced broken rear window hinges with a wing style from pick and pull (I no some people hate the wing but I like them) $20
3. Replaced broken column lock cyl. $15
4. Fixed broken glove box lock. (old lock was in glove box, pulled lock and combined the two)
5. Replaced the very bad alternator bearings and idler bearing, new serp belt. $75
6. Repainted wiper arms and installed new blades front and rear. $20
7. Oil change. $35 Plan on doing transfer case, trans, diff's next weekend.
8. Cleaned already installed K&N air filter $0
9. Fixed seat side covers. $0

What I really need to find for it is a center console. The shifer and boot are their but the PO said a stupid freind snapped the shell in half and he through it away....

Oh and I live in Eugene.:rotf:

Re: Hi from Oregon

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. The truck number is 2128 and the mileage is a very good question.
The odometer reads 138,450 but it's currently not working. The PO said the speedo stopped working after he had the heater core replaced. The C.C. works so I think the VSS is fine so maybe just the wiring from the ECM to the dash. He thinks it's about 150k

Wow! Heck of a buy! Congrats yet again! if I come across a console, I will definitely let you know.

Roy, good to hear from you!!! How is life? You need to move back up here so you and I can be the only guys at our Syty Hooters meet! :)

Re: Hi from Oregon

Ive been following this vehicle a bit. So what did you pay for it? If you don't mind me asking.

Sure $3500. But I will have another grand to get it sorted/nice for daily driving I would guess. Just the standard little stuff that non car people like to live with..

Hey Blazin,
Do you have any extra gauge pillar clusters? I think thats what they are called. Let me know I live up here in Milwaukie so I'm not very far away.
Thanks,
Denny
