mike, yes i will be cleaning it up. stayed up till 2am cleaning/spraying/cleaning/wire wheel/spraying/repeat.
jpalmer ty166, take a look at one of the top pics on this page (sorry im on my cell, the a2a goes into a renz forward facing intake.
mattw, i just threw that snot so i can bring it to my friend to wel/grind smooth. he will remove the snot before doing his welds.
mike, did u get my request for the wg re-clocking bracket? let me know. ill send a pp asap.

i hung with the family this weekend. didn't touch the truck. however, monday is my last day off for vacation. i have a laundry list of things to do.....
gap/install plugs
cut wires to length/heat sleeves
mount starter
fab copper jumper on starter for remote solenoid
fab bracket for fuel pump/filter
install hood pins
install hood struts
kinda aggressive list, but if i can knock out a few things ill be happy.

i had an s-10 with a small block in it, and it was a fun truck, i really did like it. I was proud of it in every way, but, i could not launch it, i mean, not like a can my typhoon. And ill admit, more could have been done to the suspension, but i had decent tires on it, and a set of traction bars, and i could launch and be right there with a mustang or a camero, dont get me wrong. But when i have friends in my typhoon, and i do a boost launch at even a low 6 PSI launch, they say they feel like they black out for a second, and before the road comes back into focus in middle of second gear, they feel like they just went over a hill on a rollar coaster and feel sick. Not many things on the street can launch like a syty. Your going to have an amazingly fun ride there, and it will be worth the effort, but its gonna take alot to launch like its counterpart.
Those back tires are a great first step though, they look perfect with thse rims, bf goodrich?

i know what you mean. no comparison to any awd setup.
the rears are on 10inch rims. 295/50/16s. i just picked up a set of 30x10.5 good year slicks for $50pr. they are used but have a TON of meat on them. i need to buy a set of matching smooth steel wheels for the slicks now. but i couldn't pass up the deal.
when i have the money im gonna go with an adjustable ladder bar/ coil over setup like i had in my vegas. my first vega was a 9inch M&H street tire. it used to hook hard with the sbc no nos.

I know you can do alot with a leaf spring set up, everywhere i read about suspension setups in magazines they talk about how a leaf spring set up can be used to go as low as the 9's in the quarter....i dont know if that applies to an s-10 though, due to goofy weight distribution (its just a hard thing to get down the track) i alwasys thought leaf springs were kind of a good idea with stuff like this, and this is my thinking, but im prolly wrong. Leaf springs can be used to control initial torque in the same fasion as a wrinkle wall tire. Basically, you take the initial force of rotation, and absorb some of it with the leaf spring twisting. You can control the amount of twisting with traction bars, and once your down the track a bit they will 'unwind'. I know this sounds stupid, because there only twisting a few degrees, but i dont think wrinkle wall tires twist much more, and drag racers seem to think thats just the bees knees. (i know that they also love them because as they get spinning faster they become taller and give you more top end)
I guess im not so much pointing this out as fact but more throwing it out there to see if what i was told was right. ladder bars a prolly a good idea though cause im sure oce you modify the stock leafs to do anything you prolly could have just put those on. i think i wanna go with code59. and i think im going to leave the stock ecm in the truck to control everything besides the motor. i will wire in the syty motor harness/ecm to just control the motor.
so far that is the plan.

i got my intercooler pipping back last week. had someone weld it up and clean up the exhaust side of the turbo. i cut away the wg puck and had him clean up some of the jagged spots. not ported, just clean it up. he also drilled and tapped the extra hole for the JSM dp.
now im going to have to grind down all the welds.what is the suggestion for grinding the welds down? i have a mikeeda grinder, but its kinda big to do the ic pipping. i can use the bench grinder (been meaning to buy one anyway) or i was thinking of using a air tool with a sanding wheel on it (also been meaning to buy one too)

my other question would be what wideband to get to use code59 with the stock ecm. i looked on code59 site and saw the list of suggested widebands. im guessing innovate? not sure about that yet. i guess i should focus on getting it running first. LOL

well im on vacation for two weeks. inbetween some house chores and trying to spend some time with my sons............
removing the 95 ecm
i will be wiring in the syty ecm
keeping the chassis harness in the truck ie, lights/brakes/radio/ac/etc
the 4L60e is gone. a built 700r4 is in its place (no elec)
the factory gauges will be replaced with indash autometers
wow. only 5 lines to write it down......but its going to be alot of work for me. i have never done this before. ill post some pics as i start the work tomorrow.
