I was installing new plugs, wires and cap/rotor and forgot to mark the cap which wires go where. Anyone have any ideas or diagrams? Thanks

If you are in front of the truck facing the engine the plug wire terminal that is between the 5 and 6 o' clock position is terminal 1. From there, move counter clockwise for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Hope that helps. If you need a diagram just google "4.3 v6 plug wire diagram" and you should be able to find something for a visual reference.

This, of course, depends on the dist not being repositioned by someone in the past. You might consider turning the motor over to the TDC mark and looking at where the rotor points. IF it points to either 1 or 4 it hasn't been changed. If it won't start, backfires, etc. You 180* out. Just reposition #1 directly across from where it is and reposition the remainder in the correct order.
The dist turns clockwise, firing order is 165432
