Help with new system !!!

I will be installing a new system in my truck over the winter and was wanting a few suggestion on speakers, a deck and sub. I listen to a lot of Metallica and 80's rock, no rap or country in my collection if that helps. I prefer sound quality over pounding and high volume.

Hey, maybe you should have bought a Ty,that way you would have room for all that stuff. Just kidding. I thought most guys like the sound of the turbo.

an 8" or 10" sub would be good sound quality without too much bass. of course good amps and mids and highs... the usual!

Pioneer makes a new shallow mount sub that seems like a good choice for our trucks(sy's) anyone here own one or know of anyone that does?

a 10 inch powered bazoka tube will work well amp built right in and any good 3 way 6x9s in rear and 4x6 in front should be fine

I used an 8" powered bazooka behind the driver seat. I need my seat all the way back. I have the JVC kd-ax2 dvd unit and an Alpine V-12, plates, and pioneer 4"x10"s. It has incredible sound for what it is.

one 8-10" sub in the cab should be plenty considering it will be right behind you. match it with some nice speakers and itll rock

I'll let you in on a secret..
If you really want to enhance the Metallica sound. Get a audio control epicenter and hook it up to your sub amp :)

Heres some idea's of what to do with a standard cab truck, 2 JL W7 10s in a 2001 xtreme.

It sounds really clean and hits well.
As for deck/sub reccomendations, ive used everything from JL to (sigh) Cirwin Vega to Eclipse and without a shadow of a doubt Eclipse is the winner. Slightly pricey but they're musical subs, high requency responce and a HUGE range of sound. They also make some nice innovative head units with the Eclipse Seccurity Network feature, if its stolen it can be recovered if the police find it. Its eletronicly tagged.
