Help with a purchase

Fellas, I'm taking a 6 hour drive to look at a Syclone in Wisc. The truck has 60,000 miles and from what I've seen in the pic's the guy sends me, the truck looks to be in absolutely flawless condition. No B.S!! With the exception of a sunroof the truck is totally stock. From talking with the seller he sounds like he is in his 50's or so. Had my share of 10 and 11 second cars but have zero experience with common problems or issues to look for in these particular trucks. Also, in my market these trucks seem to be pulling around 13 to $17,000, in other areas around 12 to $15,000. By the way I live in southeastern MI. What should I expect to pay if this truck is in the condition it seems to be in?
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try talking with a board member by the name of Tookycat and see if he can check it out for you.. Otherwise try contacting Dr Gonzo... he's always looking for a reason to go up to Wisconsin and heckle Tooky... Either way, try and read up on the trucks before hand.. check out the buyers guide on syty.org and if you can find a knowledgeable board member to check out the truck with you...

BTW: you might want to consider talking with the Chi-Town peeps.. specifically Brian Green.. and look around the chicago area.. You're lucky to be in one of the areas with a owner/ex-owner base of knowledgeable people... Talk to green see what your options are.. and if you can, have green check out the truck for you..

I'm from near Grand Rapids, and I drove to WI for a Sy too. =) Got it last March for $9800. 77k, bone stock, with the worst problem being a torn boot on the propshaft.

There are tons of people in the Detroit area. Merk is one of the main historians, so he can tell you tons. Al Dustan (http://www.sportmachines.com/dpt/), warmpancakes, 1FSTSIX, kwick6, and others are in the area too.

http://www.syty.org/old/buyers.html is a good place to start. Read the FAQ and ReadMe to the left, and check out the Mod/Repair forum. You'll get an idea of what things fail and/or get upgraded...

P.S. Have fun driving it back through the Chicago tollbooths. =)
