Help w/ intercooler refill

Typower

It's not a jimmy!!!!
I am outside getting frustrated because I am trying to refill my intercooler system after draining it but the stuff starts fizzing out when I have the pump running. Is this normal or have I hacked something up. I have spent an hour out there and only have 1 quart in it!!!!!! On a side note, does anyone have a website where I could buy a suspension techniques sway bar? Thanks for all the help!

foam i hear is bad. to refill is actually very easy the way i did it. Take the upper ic line off. Plug that port on the upper ic (best if you have extra hose make a short piece about 8 inches and point it straight up so you can see when you get water into it) Next turn the pump on and add water or antifreeze or whatever you have to add to the upper ic hose. Just pour it in untill it is full (note, if you are using a hose on the upper ic port try not to overfill it cause when you put the line back on its gonna spill) Then with the help of a friend pull the plug or extra hose off the ic and put on the full upper ic line. You should have no air left in the system. I did it and it only took me 5 mins

If you unbolt the CAC, you can tip it and make sure the fill hole is the highest point in the system. That should make it at least a little easier. If you have too much flow, you can fill it with the pump off, cap it and run the pump, then stop the pump and repeat... Others have put those T fittings with the screw-off cap in the upper hose. Then you can make that the highest point in the system, fill it to the top, then just put the cap back on.

As long as I shut the pump off and wait for the foam to settle down, I can take off the cap and fill it up a little bit. Maybe I need to have more patience but I want to drive it while the weather is nice!

I would be concerned about the foam. Might be indicitive of a kink somewhere in the system. Under most circumstances you should be able to fill it with the pump running. I did it the way Bill said and that seemed to work nicely. It shouldn't take that long to get it to settle down unless there is a restriction somewhere in the line.
