i dunno why but i kinda figured that everyone that owned a syty would be as enthusiastic about it as most of us are, or at least want to have a brief conversation about the truck. unfortunately that hasnt been the case with the last 2 owners ive met. i can understand someone not wanting to talk about the truck if its someone thats gonna do the usual "dont these have a V8?" anyway the point of my story here is that today i met a guy with a 92 white/grey ty, and attempted to talk to him about his truck, but didnt get very far. i asked if he was on the list or the BB and he kinda laughed at me and said NO! then i asked if he had any mods, and i got ignored. then he asked if that was my sy over there, then said some other shit about him bidding on a syclone on ebay, and that he had another ty back in new york as he was walking away from me. and my favorite part was when i asked what number it was, which was followed by "huh?"

so i guess most of the people that really appreciate these trucks or have any interest in them, are all right here! give or take a few that dont have computers.

people like that suck. it hurts to hear they own one, and more than one it sounds like. there's a lot of that with any performance or collector car. you see it a lot in the Vette world. they think it's cool to own one, that it makes them special. when, in fact, they have no true love and respect for what they are driving. when you buy it just to make yourself look good, or buy it for an investment only, there's something wrong there. i don't mind so much when people rarely drive their car if they appreciate it for what it is. but having it as a status symbol is dumb.

I had a conversation with a guy driving down the interstate in rush hour trafffic one day. Pretty cool guy - don't remember his name or anything. It was just cool to have a conversation and start having the cars behind you get all pissed off and start honking as we are doing 25 and the cars ahead of us have gained some distance then punching it and beating him I used to talk to anyone about my truck when I first got it. Now it is just tiring to explain it isn't a FREAKING BLAZER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've encounterd a dick like that before. First time I saw the kid was when I was driving in my Ty. I saw him (red/gray Ty) maybe 10 cars up so I sped up to him. Get next to him and give a nod and a thumbs up. All he did was look at me and then look away. His passenger was more excited to see another Ty then he was. He turned off into a chevy dealership and I didn't even bother to follow him.

Then about a month later, I went with a friend to pick up this new chick that he was seeing. So we get to her house and what's parked across the street? The same red/gray Ty. So i get out and go over to have a look at it. It didn't look too bad. Nice paint no dings etc... So then I go back to my friends car to grab a pen and pad to write down his VIN cause at the time Morgan was keeping that VIN list. When I'm walkin back over to the Ty I see someone coming out of the house it's in front of. It's the same asshole who was driving it when I saw him on the highway. First thing he says "Something I can help you with man?" Like I was going to steal his Ty. So I introduce myself, tell him I have a Ty and I like his. Kid had no intrest in even having a conversation with me. I asked him if he had any mods and he's like "no nothing yet, but I am gonna pull the engine and drop a GN engine in to it." That was my cue to leave. I said "good luck with it, nice to me ya, but I gotta run." I don't understand how you can own something so rare and unique and when you see another one/meet another owner not even want to talk about it or have questions.

Fawk em, i have run into some many losers in sy's and ty's it makes me sick i once asked a guy about his syclone while driveng down the street, i said "nice truck", he said "nice truck", BS, "how do you like it i asked him"?..........conversation got as far as this he said to me, "when the supercharger kicks in on this thing im gone, i love it" i was about puke, i nodded, said "you know it", and left very upset, WHAT THE HELL!

I've tried for 2 years to talk to this dude in my town with a 12 second blk/gray.Oh well,guess I'll just have to spank his ass at a stoplight if we ever meet up.

I tell ppl I got a V6 Blazer lowrider :lol:
