Heater Core ?

I got a weird fluid on my winshield driving down the road with the defrost on the other day...is it antifreeze...???

Smells like antifreese ..but I dont have the wet carpet ....

Is the Ty trying to tell me that the heater core is going out or what???

Has this happened to anyone else.....

Yep - it will be going. My carpet never got wet either- but driving was very difficult with the defrost on - which later was true of all vent settings.

Ah yes, the dreaded hazy "mist" that reaks of ethelene glycol with the defrost on... Yup heater core is on it's way out. There is a detailed "how to" here: http://www.sytyarchives.com/howto/heater_core.php Now I just need to follow the directions and do it on my truck, someday .
