Heater Core Question

What exactly does the heater core do? can i block it off and not run coolant through it?

the coolant goes throught that, and then a fan blows that hot air into the cab, and it gives you heat in the winter.

if you want, you can connect the two hoses that normally go into the core to each other, effectively bypassing it.

I removed the heater core and for the simplification of the under hood stuff, I just blocked the ports on the lower intake and on the radiator. I used a short section of heater hose, a short stainless screw and a clamp.

thanks guys...my truck is starting to look like a truck from the 60's. no a/c, no cruise control....just a motor. kinda nice not having all that shit crammed in there!!!!
