Hanging Idle

Occasionally, when driving around town and when I let of the gas, the idle likes to hang around 1,000 rpm until I brake and come to a stop. Sometimes it will maintain the speed initially when I let off the gas.

Any suggestions?

could be an idle air control valve sticking open. Allowing too much air in resulting in a high idle.
