Yesterday, while waiting to pick Denym up to do soil borings, I went ahead and 2k primed the fenders. Now for more blocking.

Last night, I filled in the low spots on the driver door that I got from Hollis junkyard and blocked everything with 80 grit. Ready for 2K.

Yesterday, I did the body work on the hood and sanded all the spray paint off. That was a real pain in the ass and took about 3 hours with an 80 grit DA. PO had laid it on pretty thick. The hood came off of the $150 parts truck.

I also painted most of the front part of the frame.

Nice! That's dedication. I wish I had the time. I'd finish all my Turdo powered cars and drive one every other day. The Sy will need wheels re-finished and some front suspension work.

More progress. Yesterday, I installed the driver door. Not an easy task working alone. I had to do it twice, as I forgot to drill the hole that was needed for the door wires into the non-power door that I am using. Lori was at Cheri's beach house, so I had some time.

Later, I went ahead and tore the motor down to get it ready for machine shop. Just a few more items left to remove.

Empty motor stand pic: I took the motor and parts to the machine shop last week. I have decided to run Vortec heads, and those are on their way.

Personal top tip: I like to take a big piece of cardboard and label where all the bolts go on the motor while taking it apart. It makes it much easier to put back together.

Tuesday, I got lucky and scored a pretty nice dash at pick and pull. It has a couple of small cracks, and will need to be repainted, but it beats the shit out of what I have. Pretty rare find for Florida.

Man that's comin along pretty good. I like your cardboard bolt organizer trick, I never would have thought of that.

I painted my junkyard dash yesterday. I think it turned out great. I did have to fix one spot where I chipped it while getting out of the door at pick and pull. I used the same plastic repair stuff that I use to fix cladding tabs.

I used Bulldog adhesion promoter and Duplicolor vinyl paint. Dark Charcoal color.

A couple of days ago, I modified the rear brake line to get rid of the rear abs. I also painted the bracket that the prop valve attaches to.

Yesterday, I finished the body work on the cab and primed the body work and roof. I ran out of primer before I could get a thick coat, so I will guide coat sand it, then get more primer on Monday.

Time to move on to the bed. I got started on it yesterday, and it shouldn't be to bad.

Thanks to Ken Bartlett, I have a brand spanking new instrument panel harness to put in the GT. I also have a new front light harness that will be going in. Thanks, Ken.

I picked up the painted cab yesterday from Richard's. Still waiting on motor from Kevin's machine. Had to buy a new crank, and that was much cheaper than turning the old one. I will try to take the hood and fenders over to Richard's some time soon so they can work on them.

Rob came over yesterday morning and helped me install the dash. I painted a couple more interior pieces after my Smith Creek trip.

I said to hell with it and installed the motor that was in my long term Sy that I am LS swapping. It ran 7.3 in the 1/8 in the sy, so it should make a good tire spinner. Next, I need to make a downpipe that will fit the 2wd frame.
