Got lucky today (kinda long)

REAL LUCKY. Figured that topic would get your attention but it's not what your thinking. :D
Anyway, the truck started making a funny noise today coming home. So I jack up the truck and start checking stuff. Grab the tire, holy crap that thing is wobbly :eek: . Somehow the main nut holding the hub came backed off some. I pulled the hub and everything looked ok. None of the pretty purply-blue color on anything. So I just repacked it and put it back together. Tightened it down and everything seems fine. I test drove it and everything appears ok. Do you guys think that I should go ahead and get a new hub and bearnings just to be on the safe side?

They are supposed to be 120 ft lbs of torque!!!

Get a big torque wrench!!

you should be ok...

And put a Fn cotter pin back in it his time... geeesh

There's supposed to be a metal shroud over the bolt with the cotter pin through both of them.

It did have one in it and it was actually still there. I think I know what happened. I just replaced the half shaft a while back and the shaft that I got came with a 35mm nut instead of a 36. Why, don't know. I did notice that when I was putting it back together tonight that the shroud was loose on the nut and it was actually kinda loose on the stock one too. I think that the smaller nut just being 1mm smaller let the nut turn in the shroud. I fixed that. That's the only thing that I can figure. I did have that thing torqued down, my wrench only goes to 100 but I kept going.

BTW, guys, my Shop Manual says the torque is supposed to be 181 Ft-Lbs. Not sure how U would be able to hold everything to get such a torque anyway, just like the Pitman Arm nut.
