I know I'm probably going to get some crap for this not being about a Sy/Ty but hey its a GNX and I know most of you on here love them.

Anyway, it was at Whataburger cruize night April 3. It was debadged, had alky injection, drag radials on back, I didn't think to look at what turbo he has on it but it wasn't stock. I wish the guy had been standing by it so I could talk to him. Oh, it was in Longview, Texas.

It very well could have been a debadged GN with a few GNX touches.
Lots of repro parts out there.

I don't mind seeing a few sightings of other rare GM turbos.
I'd like to stumble upon a real one (GNX) myself one day.

I was wondering if it was a real GNX, thats why I wish the guy was out there by it. I will ask around at work and see if anybody knows the guy.

There are a lot of GNX "clones" out there. And keep in mind that GNX's did not come with all the emblems that a GN did. Only the "GNx" on the back deck. There's lots of ways to tell a real one (a numbered plaque on the dash, GNX specific suspension, specific wheels, gauge package, louvers, etc., etc.) but so much is available aftermarket that one can almost create a clone that would fool most people at first glance.

its tough to tell sometimes, rear suspension is a dead giveaway. most clones have gauges but rarely stuart warner. fender flares and vents are a dime a dozen.and they never spring for the rear suspension system. if he has the original leather bound book and jacket they gave out id believe him.

I talked to the guys at work and they didn't know there was a GN in the area. I work at a Rod and Custom shop so they keep up with that stuff. I'm going to the one next month to see if I can find him.

i see one every time i go to an englishtown import vs. muscle survivor series race. it really makes me smile to see someone with an absolutely flawless GNX uing it for what it was built for - destroying the 1/4 mile:
