Gilbert Bracket instructions

Does anyone have a copy of the instruction sheet for modifying the shift cable brackets that came with the Gilbert shaft? I have a set I want to modify but can't find mine. I know about just bending the brackets, but I want to do the mod as they recommended. Thanks!

I cut and rebent mine, but it cracked a little when I rebent it (it supper hard to bend without heat), it still installed and works. I ended up just buy one form detroit turbo, they are pretty cheap. IMO Its not orht the hassle to cut and rebend the stocker.

Both brackets are hitting on mine. I see the marks on the shaft. I know detroit turbo has the front, but I also thought the rear bracket had to be modified as well.

I forgot that I cut my rear as well. The front PIA to do. Somepeople just bend the brackets with a pry bar.

Re: Gilbert Bracket instructions

I bought the Detroit lever and bent the support. There is almost no relative motion between any of these parts, except the rotation of the shaft of course, so virtually any clearance is enough.

I have someone that will cut and weld the new lever that I have for nothing. Beats spending $30. So it is a 1/4' that needs to be removed from the middle of the front bracket?

The stock one was free for me too, it just wasn't worth the time I spent on doing it. If you want I will exchange stock levers, mine just needs to be rewelded.

I appreciate the offer Dave. I have already given the new lever to my buddy and just need to let him know how much to remove. I am down to a last few items before I am ready to go to NED later this month. Not sure exactly when yet.

true, how much time have you spent on trying to figure it out already? now you are going to owe somebody a favor for welding it for you??? and last time i checked it was $19.99. somebody took the time to develop this product so you didn't have to go through all this trouble and is obviously not making a lot of profit on it. take advantage.

$30 with shipping my friend. And this guy already owes me, so I am more than willing to cash in on this one! Plus the $30 can be put towards a boost valve!

I went the Detroit Turbo route too since I couldn't make it myself cheaper than what Scott is selling them for. One thing everyone hasn't mentioned is that his are cut from stainless steel so it will never rust. I freakin' HATE rust

Just wanted to throw this out there for ya..... You only need to bend the stock bracket maybe 1/8th of an inch. It's not even noticeable.

Just found this post.

Shipping shouldn't be so much, so I think thats fixed now on the site.

Also, I reduced the price down so its closer to $20 shipped. That seems like a fair price, $30 is too high I agree.

Thank you Scott for stepping up and making it more affordable to all. Addressing it quickly shows excellent business practice. I have ordered one and look forward to just bolting it on.
