Re: ghetto boost connection

Do you have any idea how dangerous that is!!!!!!! If the manifold pressure (boost) gets high enough it will blow that right out, then you have no power brakes!! Not to mention a huge vaccume leak!!! Dude seriosly do some research an do the job right! Syty performance sells an awesome braided steel brake booster hose an boost guage fitting, and its safe!!!

Re: ghetto boost connection

if you look really really close you can see the coil is bolted to the firewall and them map will have a custom bracket because the stock is going in the trash becuase it takes too much room next to the manifold...

Re: ghetto boost connection

and as far as no brakes hell i dont need any in park, this is a temp just a test and yay my gauge works

Re: ghetto boost connection

you guys need to knock it off. if you can't get along, don't post in each other's thread. And copying in exerpts of other threads into your based on who is posting in your thread is also moronic. I've already told you guys to knock it off before. Things aren't any different now becuase its a week later or the holidays.....stop.

Re: ghetto boost connection

A -8 fitting will plug into that vac hose - you can get one with a 3/8" NPT plug that goes to the manifold. It has a port for a 1/8" NPT = boost line.

What's your plan?

832,
Are your blue vacuum lines from a kit that you can buy from Auto Zone or Kragen type stores ? If they are I just would like to help you out and let you know ahead of time. They will not last very long do to being too thin. They will collapse when they get warm and then will set up to the new shape when the motor get hot. Many years ago, before I knew of this forum, I made up a set of lines using the blue vacuum lines. They lasted 6 months.

Re: ghetto boost connection

I went to lowes and bought a 3/8 NPT Tee and made a boost gauge fitting. Very cheap and very easy, just a thought.

Re: ghetto boost connection

Blue vac lines came with truck and there about 1/8" thick so i think therre not cheap ones could be wrong tho
