so since i bought my truck the temp and oil pressure gauge has been out. well lately my speedometer been giving me issues, 20-40 mph an hour its way off and the needle bounces around a good bit. is this indicating the speedo is about to go out as well? and is there anyone out there that i can send it out to that could rebuild the cluster?

Re: gauge cluster problems

I've replaced the motors on two 03-04 Tahoe clusters. They failed in different ways. Those motors are relatively easy to find and install. They also had a class action lawsuit because of the fail rate of that series. The cluster in the ext cab SoGT was NOS with 2 miles on the odo so it works and looks great, so I've not ripped into it but to install LEDs. I don't know where to get new replacement parts for these other than used from aonther cluster. That might be the route to try first is to buy a known working cluster, even if it looks beat up, and install it to rule out wiring/sensor issues. Then you have the cluster for parts. :2cents:

You can check vendors here such as Sportmachines, or YAR for parts.

Re: gauge cluster problems

The GMC stealership near me said they can send older clusters in and get them refurbished. They will do GM radios as well. Just be prepared to spend some big monies!

Re: gauge cluster problems

We have seen all kinds of wonky things happen with the cluster. IF its not a voltage issue, and the cluster itself, then it may need to be rehab'd. Theres a place we use that local to us and they do a great job, go through the whole cluster and make it work as good as new. And usually costs $200 or less. HTH
