Okay guys, I've got some new things in the works for georgiasyty.com and wanted to get you guys' opinion on what to do/what things to add. Here's what I have so far as upcoming changes:
- Personal Galleries - each member will be given an account with which to upload images and videos. Exact size of each account is yet to be determined (probably 100MB per member). Each account will include an e-mail address (i.e. - hood@georgiasyty.com, pope@georgiasyty.com, etc...) as well. Your involvement in the group as well as ownership status will regulate who is given an account. Basically, come to meets, help the group, and own a SyTy and you'll get an account.
- Group Image/Video Gallery - this will be a feature for the entire group. Will have pictures and video from meets as well as feature stuff, highlighting individual members/trucks.
- Merchandise Store - selling stuff like caps, shirts, decals, etc.... All proceeds go to GAST and future meets/events, NATS sponsorship, etc...
- Tech Page - this page will highlight how-to's on modifications/repairs that you've done to your truck and any tips/advice you might have for your fellow SyTyer. Kind of a poor man's sytyarchives.com, but contributed to by GAST members.
If you have any suggestions on the above list or other changes, please post them here.
Now, the hard part.... Unfortunately, this change will not come without a cost. I've personally been footing the bill for GAST for the last 10 years (and have been more than happy to do so), but with these changes, the need to move to another web host, and the need to purchase a larger account, I'm afraid we'll need some donations. I'll leave the exact amount up to you guys (give as you see fit), but my annual cost per year for the group is in the neighborhood of $200-300 (including web hosting, event costs, etc..., and that's in current situation), so you can see why I might want a little assistance.
Anywho, any donations can be made via Paypal to admin@georgiasyty.com or mailed to me via check/MO (PM for address). And let me stress that all donations, profits, etc.... from GAST go STRICTLY to GAST. I don't personally get a dime of this money. And since all proceeds will be used to fund events, lodging, etc... what you put in, you'll get back out. I would love to have an event next year and be able to have GAST buy everyone's hotel room or rent the track or whatever.
Also, all donation amounts will be confidential, so no matter how big or small, your contribution will be appreciated.
