Alright guys, I'm outta here. I've got a few stops to make along the way, but I should be at the hotel by 4 pm. Just checked the weather and it looks a little more promising (they dropped the chance of rain from 30% to 20% for tomorrow night.) Maybe we'll have a dry, overcast weekend that's nice and cool for racing.
Anyhow, I'll see you guys there tonight. I'll be driving the Syclone, so just look for the big guy with a beer in his hand and a truck with Bulloch County plates.

Well, unfortunately I couldn't get a flight down to FL that fit my schedule until Monday eve, so I'll miss this event
On the topic of my Florida Ty, I may have a buyer from Merritt Island and he said he'd met a couple FAST members before, I think he'd probably bring it to FAST/GAST events if he is the winning bidder.
Incidentally, also especially relevant to FAST/GAST members is that I will refund $500 of the purchase price if full payment is received by noon Saturday Sep 30th and picked up no later than Oct 2 (I'm going back to Iowa then, and that would save me a trip).
That's pretty much it. Maybe someday I'll be living back in Florida again, and I'll still have my original Ty to bring with me...

ya, and when's the last time you or anyone has talked to Josh, who owned it previously? I'm trying to reach him at where I think he works, but no reply yet. I was kinda wondering if he wanted to see 'da Cuke' again - or maybe even become her owner again!

The meet went well. While the attendance was down (for us and the GAFBA crew), we did get to see some good racing and meet a lot of first timers (to the group and to drag racing.) I want to personally thank Jonathan, Mike, Mark, and Wayne for attending the meet with me. The smaller group allowed those of us who were new owners and GAST members (Mike and Mark) to get up to speed on things with the group and with SyTys in general. Allowed for a much more intimate meet for us all. There was plenty of laughing, drinking, and staying up late. Unfortunately, weather threatened the meet all weekend (though it never rained until 4 pm on Sunday) and kept a lot of our members (and GAFBA members) away. Hopefully, the next meet will turn out much better and we can get a solid attendance number.
I drove my truck the 320 mile round trip, so I kept the racing VERY light and safe (16 psi, 16 deg timing, mild launch, rich tune, etc...), and ran 13.1 a few times at the track with 1.83 short times each time (I shoulda competed in the 13.00 class and won.) I even told Pope that I was gonna run a 13.15 on the first pass and then clicked off a 13.154 @ 101 with a respectable RT.
Like I said, not a meet (or racing) for the ages, but a great time was had by all and we got to put face to name with a few new folks. Now if only I could get my hearing back...:rotf: ...(those that were there know what I'm on about.)

I plead the 5th on the pants....why buy clothes until the old ones wear out? You guys should've made it....of course, you wouldn't have helped us out in the looks dept.
No video of Pope saying anything, but we did mention how nice it was not having you guys ask Pope to say stuff all the time. J/K :rotf:

I've got a good base tan from last year ( well on my left side at least ) Did they ask about the lost muffins and food from the Comp Breakfast last year?
