Gas milage??

Tomorrow (Fri) I'm leaving Santa Rosa for Eureka (Somoa drag strip) for a weekend of racing. 4.5 hrs drive each way. Wanna make a bets on my gas millage? I will be checking so chime in if you'd like.

Results on Monday.

Re: Gas millage??

How fast will you be driving on the highway?

Speed limit varies considerably on that trip. Max 70 (Max speed limit will be 65) but probably more like 60-65. Maybe 50 average.

If we are talking average mpg for all weekend, racing included, i say 9.4mpg.

I thought about this and I will try to separate the racing from the driving. I try to go to the track with a full tank so it shouldn't be difficult. Might need a bank loan for the gas bill but what the heck...:rotf:

Re: Gas milage??

I was amazed...

17.12 MPG Santa Rosa to Eureka 237 miles

Since I had other transportation the truck sat at the race track. So racing only, literally, 2 MPG

Return trip 17.4 MPG

Most everyone was real close, except Anarchy99, congrats!!

I actually predicted more like 14. I was pleasantly surprised. We were all joking that I would be stopping at every third town to buy gas. I bought a beer to the guy who nailed it on the way up. (There were 7 of us.)

Thanks for participating!

These trucks actually do pretty good when driving down the freeway, not so much around town.
