fuel and boost spike?

finally got the sy running tonight. couple of issue (of course)

1 my FP is jumping to about 70 psi at wot....idle and normal drving is at 42

2 boost is jumping to 21 psi. still have the whole stock turbo setup and stock exhaust.


any ideas?

adjust the wastegate rod

fuel pressure should rise 1psi for every pound of boost

i didnt think you could really adjust boost with the stock turbo/wastegate setup...thought you could only have it on 14.7 lbs

is it a steady 21#s or spiking? if its spiking you need to adjust the wastegate rod. and get an external boost controller.

this is my first turbo car/truck so bare with me....where should i have the wastegate adusted too. doesnt an external controller and the wastegate rod both control boost?

also i thought i read some where about disconnected some wire at the turbo? what is that about thanks

do you have datamaster?

yes wastegate, external boost controller will control boost, i belive you adjust the wastegate rod in to bring down boost.

boost solenoid is what your talking about about. with boost solenoid disconnected base boost is present.
