Ft Smallwood Park MD gathering - 9/15/02

Hi guys! We're gonna have a Mid-Atlantic gathering at Fort Smallwood Park MD (outside Baltimore) on 9/15/02. (Anyone is invited to join us.) I'll try to get there around 10am, and we'll probably be there until the park closes at dark. I'll bring stuff to cook out, and if you have things to do to your truck, bring it along. (Bring tools too...and only minor work please - oil changes and such would probably not be welcome in the park.)

There's lots of room for us along the waterfront, and it's a great opportunity to show off what you've got and learn about what you want. Don't miss this opportunity to hang out, meet new faces, etc. It's always a blast - we've had over 20 trucks there already, and it's cool to BS with everyone and see what folks are doing (have done) to their rides.

For directions, Jeff Richards still has his page up:

I'll get them up onto the MidAtlantic page ASAP. Thanks Jeff!

If you can't make it at 10am (it's a 3 hour drive for me, so I may be a little late myself), just make it when you can. However, come for as much as you can - trust me, you'll want to. **There is a small "donation" required to get in the gate - like $5 I think. Just drive around until you see us - we should be along the waterfront, to the left when the road splits.

Any questions, post it here, drop me an e-mail (below), or call me - 610.678.0243. See ya there!

And PLEASE let me know if you're coming so I know how much food/beverage to bring.

Adam - you'd rather go to the Keystones than to a SyTy event? I hope you're kidding. I've been there - don't plan on going back. But hey, that's just me.

Morgan - Whoops! Didn't know about that one. (I remembered the 28th though...) Well, you probably need some time out of NJ anyway. :D Bring some of your boys down as well - it'll make ya feel good!

:multi: Oh, and I forgot to mention:
End of summer Ocean City (MD) cruise is Oct 13-16. I'm gonna try to make it down after work Friday (regardless of Typhoon sale status) and go home Sunday lunchtime. Maybe I'll have Butch's TTA back together and I'll bring that. (Yeah right...) Mark it on your calendars awhile - we'll be there too.

Dad just told me that there's a business conference at the convention center that weekend that he'll be at as well, so hotel rooms may fill quickly. Just a warning.

Hope you guys can make it.

Sweet! What are the odds of seeing the Skyline? (Not that I don't want to see your Ty - it's just that I've never seen a Skyline in person.) Maybe sometime soon...

Just to update, the Fort Smallwood Park gathering this Sunday 9/15 is on RAIN OR SHINE. The most recent forecast (what do they know?) shows showers on Sunday, but we'll still be there. So far I have replies for 13 trucks (weather permitting for some) and 20+ people.

There are covered areas, and Bob Galla and I are both bringing our canopies just in case we would run out of room. I'm bringing the food and drink, Bob's bringing the grill to cook on. (Burgers, dogs, chips, soda is on the menu.) :)

Morgan - think you might make it down? Bring a NASTE caravan. :D

If anyone wants to get it touch with me, post here, email me, or call me. Home 610.678.0243, cell 610.223.7445. I'll be on the road (hopefully) by 7:30am Sunday. Got some Ty work to do tomorrow...

As always, it was good to see the old faces and meet the new ones. If only the drip-drip would've stayed away...but it could've been much worse I guess. (The one guy at work measured 3" of rain at his place yesterday.)

Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for showing. I counted 11 trucks (3 Sy's & 8 Ty's), total of 15 people. For those of you that missed the gathering, you missed a Z06 launching in the rain with the traction control on. Interesting. You guys are gonna have to learn to eat though - I brought too much food home.

Neil - let us know how you make out with the new O2 sensor.

I would've posted this sooner, but I didn't make it home until 10:45pm. I had a blowout on I-83 just south of York - pretty much halfway between home and Balti. And as Viemie pointed out at the park (maybe a sign?), I don't have a spare in the truck. After 2.5 hours of sitting on the shoulder of the road, Dad arrived from the house-warming party I was supposed to be at with a rear off his Ty. Almost 5 hours later, I was home from Ft Smallwood. :-? I hit something in the road (in the pouring rain) and the truck didn't feel right, but I thought it was just because I'm not used to driving it in the rain. At least it stopped raining to change tires. :)

Next stop - Ocean City Oct 10-13. See the new topic for more info. Hopefully it'll be nice and sunny. :D

Thanks again for a great day! (at least until 7pm it was great...)
