Wow.Could be either a good deal or a major head ache. Too bad something like that happened to a ty with such low miles.

All I can say is that it is a good thing there is a sale pending and that he did not include his contact information. I'd jump on that truck ALL DAY LONG for $8500 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if he posted a picture of the interior yopu guys would change your tune, its a salt water flood car it will haunt you for years, mold, corrosion etc it was a deep flood, so basically the soft interior parts are junk if not now in a year when the salt does its magic

My money would be on major headache. We all know what salt does to these trucks. The motor may be fine, but the interior is going to be garbage, the ECM is probably trash, along with the harness, and all of the metal is compromised.
A local guy tore down an M3 that he salvaged from Sandy, and there was considerable rust behind the dash and under the carpets.

15 years of winter driving salt in one hit.

If you know how to deal with it, its not that big of a headache. I already saved a BMW and a F350 that were both on the island where I was during Sandy. Yes things need to be replaced, but to say its a parts truck is ignorant. Who gives a shit about the ECM, they are like $75 at Napa. Harnesses come up for sale too. Just sayin.

I can understand you wanting it scrapped. It is a 93 which is more the reason to save that gem. Now if it was a 92, well ..........part it out.

Re: FS: 6,500 mile '93 Typhoon

ive dealt with flood cars, fresh water cars are a nightmare, salt are even worse, the water was to the dash, that entire truck will need to be torn down power washed to hopefully remove the salt water, all soft pieces on the interior are junk, complete drivetrain over haul if its saveable,. If the water hadnt gone as deep as it did the truck would be easier to save, its a low mile one owner truck. that was 4 foot deep in water for at least a week

As if a non-flooded ty wasn't enough trouble...GL to the new owner. Hope it works out.

These trucks are cursed
Re: FS: 6,500 mile '93 Typhoon

since it's a 93 you can use a whole Jimmy SLT interior and it'll still look the same :rotf:

6,500 miles is suspect, anyone can polish a turd and make the outside look nice. Even if you do all the restoration yourself, you're still gonna dump at least 6k into it. I'd rather buy something with 60k on it from the southwest and spend a lot less money... then again you could also overpay for a saudi ty from texas with a blown motor.:squint:

Don't feel bad I overpaid for a POS that whored it's way from NY to FL to Chicago then to me and it came with a "pristine, low 67k miles engine" that happened to have been blown oh and was rebuilt once before...
