FS: 44k Austin Syclone project...make offers!

I think I've found my next project vehicle and it'd be nice to sell my Syclone first. Problem is, I haven't run the truck since I moved to Austin. The oil pressure sensor crapped out just before I moved. Since then I sold off the KB headers and broke a stud off the stock crossover pipe and ... long story short I haven't touched the truck in a long time.

Shortly before I moved a significant tree branch fell on the truck. It dented the roof and driver's side bed. I had just (as my first amateur effort) painted the roof prior to the accident cause, no joke, it was damaged by a tree branch falling on it when it was in the previous owner's possession. The irony was not lost on me. I bought the truck as a rolling chasis btw.

Truck has a rebuilt stock engine with only minor upgrades (melling oil pump, cloyes double roller timing chain, L35 rods hung on stock pistons). I've got an RPM air-to-air on it now and that can be included. I've got all the stock parts for it. Cept the wheels. It's got real ZR1s on it (9.5" up front, 11" in back). I sold the stock wheels off cause they didn't do the trick for me. Truck has been garaged for years. Oh, and there are only 44K miles on the chasis.

Here's the plan:

I bought the next project, would like to get the Syclone off my hands fast. This truck is worth a few bucks even as it sits.

For the right price I'll give you every single part I have with the truck, including the RPM A2A, front coilover suspension, front and rear Baer big brake kit, quick ratio steering box, Stealth 70 turbo with PTE downpipe, 30 over SRP pistons, and a shit-ton of other smaller things. $9K strikes me as quite a deal for the package.

Sorry for this rather lame ad but things are going to get tight soon, and crazy busy, so I need this starting point. IM me for number/address and all that. Thanks!

The dents, which are impossible to see in this light. There is a minor dent at the top of the a-pillar, and a more significant dent on the top middle of the driver's bed. It's completely pullable...probably $300 for both dents.

Re: FS: Austin Syclone project $7K firm.

I guess this isn't as good a deal as I thought. How about this, is there anyone in the Austin area that would buy the truck for ANY price in it's current condition?

If so come on over and take a look at it and let's haggle. I bought my next project and would like it gone by the end of the month if possible.

Thanks!

Re: FS: Austin Syclone project $7K firm.

For those of you that asked:

Looks like crap but I added some pics. Unfortunately I'm too lazy right now to pull the truck out and take pics of the dents (which are on the driver's side). If someone comes over they can help me roll it over (it's on wheel dollies).

I also added this note to the original post:

For $10K I'll give you every single part I have with the truck, including the RPM A2A, front coilover suspension, front and rear Baer big brake kit, quick ratio steering box, Stealth 70 turbo with PTE downpipe, 30 over SRP pistons, and a shit-ton of other smaller things.

Edited ad to reflect new flexibility on price, and name-drop some parts I'd like to see go with the truck.

Thanks for looking!

Thought you were in no hurry to sell it? This is my old SY. This is the one you see in the summit racing commercal. 12.20@109 Has been in my local paper here in Monroe. once it is cleand up it is really nice. all pretty much new paint. NO Rust at all. last I remember it had 42 xxx miles on it.

I'd like to see the pictures of the current damage to the truck. Also I assume once the truck is put back together is will run? Are all the parts included to get the truck running again, if not what is needed?

Hey Aj,

Yeah I'm in a hurry to sell it now. Told you it would happen eventually! Give me a ring if you want it back.

Totally reasonable request, but of course I was hoping someone interested could just come over and see it in person. I'll get those pics this weekend for sure. A local is coming over to help me get my ass in gear in that department :)

After the crossover stud is replaced and the headers are put on, I would prime the oil pump after putting in fresh oil. The exhaust will have to be reworked to mate to the stock downpipe (had KB headers and downpipe on it originally). But as far as running yeah there was nothing I know about that would prevent it from running. I guess it is a gamble though. This is why I wanted to do a local sale. You would know me and know who's door to come knocking on. And then you could get it running and rub it in everytime you saw me :)

Thanks!

So, some of those parts might be disappearing as early as this weekend to locals. I would suggest calling me ASAP to haggle over an offer for the whole package if this is your desire. I'll send you a PM.

Thanks.

I added photos of the 2 dents and odometer up top.

Here's the little f*cker that started it all.

If you are in agreement with my cash offer, let me know a couple details. Who rebuilt the engine and when the work was performed, does it come with a warranty at all on the short block, and can the extra parts included in the sale fit in the bed/cab. Tks.

This is something everyone should know: I rebuilt the engine 3 years ago. So obviously there is no warranty. The engine isn't even completely broken in :) The original plan was to rebuild the stocker while the built long block was in the works.

The extra parts I listed in the first post will all fit in the bed. As far as shipping with parts in the bed though, I hope you'll ship it yourself as I'd be nervous using a shipper.

So it was running at some point after your rebuild but not for 500 miles ??? I was under the impression this was a project you started on but never got around to finishing. I am interested in the truck if I can finish what you started and it will run. I assume you have done engine rebuilds in your past so your work is pretty reputable but having never met you, I want to make sure I know the full scoop .
