No, i'm pretty sure. With a salvage title its pretty unappealing to potential buyers. I'm sure as hell not going to sell it for $3500.

Maybe you could check your local auto brokers or dealers and see what they will give you for it, instead of parting out a perfectly good piece of Sy/Ty history. I can even post this thread on the TBSSowners site if you want the help, as I know there's some Typhoon fans over there.

bummer this truck will probably be parted out. Wish I had the room and time. This would be a nice easy fix for someone.

I have tried to contact you a couple different ways regarding buying the truck outright. I really dont want to see it parted out. Please get back to me so we can work something out.

Thanks,
Dustin

Hey Dustin, I saw your message this morning, but had to get out and shovel snow before work . I'm at work now, so let me get back to you later tonight and we can talk.

I know how that is. We had freezing rain here this morning and it took me over 2 hours to get to work. Get with me this evening, I will be around.

Thanks,
Dustin

Does this have a salvage title?

Yes, it has a rebuilt title. I did not know it when i bought it, as the title was a normal vehicle title with no indication of anything out of the ordinary and was not told it was a salvage/rebuilt title by the previous owner. I only found out when i ran a carfax much later on.

The title i have in my name is the same, doesn't say salvage title. I know i didn't have a problem registering or inspecting it in NY the first time or any of the following years. I will guarantee 100% that there is no damage to the truck. My guess is that it was in some sort of accident and the insurance company didnt want to pay the high prices for cladding or something and declared it "totaled" The owner or someone else bought it back and got a rebuilt title. There is no indication of frame damage or anything major. Here is the autocheck i ran on it.

I was looking a tthe rust. Looks like the doors, fenders and tailgate need replaced. How are the quarters and other items. I was looking for one to do a color change (sunset orange). How is the cladding (esp underneath on the back part?) Mechanically, this truck sounds good, but just needs a re-do. PM me. I can see spending around 4-4500 on this with the rust, rebuilt title, and miles. But it gives a good starting point for a color change because of the rebuilt title. Let m eknow if anything interest you

How do you know that the carfax is right? It could still be a good Title and not a rebuilt.

The NYS title i have now is a standard title. No wording on it about a salvage or rebuilt title. Can I verify it with the DMV somehow?

Re: FS: 1992 Typhoon #0004

Some states have a Motor Vehicle Research Dept within DMV that you as the vehicle owner can request information from each of the prior owner to complete the history of your truck. You must go in person and have proof that you are the current owner in hand.

Hopefully this will help you out.
