after making my runs at the track, i knew something would end up giving up, and it did. the weakest link was a squeaky u-joint on the prop shaft. i can leave it and deal with the squeak or...

what should i do? try to replace the u-joints or look for a gilbert or get the one from sytyperformance? the one i have now is stock.

Anything aftermarket and beefier than stock! I ignored mine and when it let go it did a lot of damage and cost me a lot of money! Save the headache and change it now!

I had vibration issues with my stock propshaft. I switched to a Gilbert and those vibrations went away. The install was also really easy so I can't see a reason not to. I haven't had experience with the SyTy Performance propshaft but I can imagine anything is better than the stocker.

Re: front prop shaft "?"

i've been driving the ty today with only rear wheel drive and it feels /spools quicker. i guess with only 2 and not 4 wheels to turn it should feel that way. i turned down boost just so i wouldn't be tempted to shred the back tires off.

so the majority seems to point towards $gilbert$. gotta spend $ to protect $.

thanks for the replies, guys!

How and were do I get one from gilbert and want is the cost? I can get one from syty if I have to but doesnt really matter as long as it is not the stock one lol. New to syclones and just want to make sure I dont break shit. Already rebuilding the trans and tune up for the motor- plugs, wires, cap n rotor and all the old vacum line ect.

Re: front prop shaft "?"

because i am a budget racer, lol!, i went the very cheapest route. i took the rear u-joint on the prop shaft apart and cleaned and re greased. the pin bearings were good, the original grease were all dry crud. fixed my very minor problem. was reading some posts about it not being a good idea to drive w/o the front prop shaft. was enough for me to do something to get the prop shaft back in until i can afford a gilbert or d&r or syty perf. one
