 Driving at 80 mph...it was quick....First a bad viberation and then kabluie. :x

The worst part was when i was slowing down the shaft got to the shifter cable and ripped it off and also noticed ball bearings passing me up.

I just ordered my gilbert shaft  and going to get that in ASAP.

I was reading another post about a cheaper shift cable and wanted to know if they are still available or if anyone had one I could buy off of.

Yeah, i ordered a stock one from dynotech when mine fell apart. $490, and 11.9#'s if your only picking up the end with the U-joint.

why did gilbert switch yoke setup?
in that pic, the shaft bolts to the diff like stock, but now you have to change the diff yoke.

Am I missing something here? Just got mine and I don't see where it would attach to the front side of the truck? Where does it bolt up?

Anybody got a working picture?

The front on that thing is nice. I removed the front of the shaft last night to get to the tc cover, and I was able to remove it w/o having to turn the shaft at all... a big time saver

AFTER you mark the pinion nut orientation on the front differential, remove the stock flange with a 32MM socket. If you're lucky, you can break it loose with a breaker bar. I had to bust out the impact to remove mine :-? .

I had $317/shipped into my first Gilbert Prop shaft..

then somehow that got traded for a transmission I still havent used before it was installed..

Then I paid like $320/shipped for the 2nd one.

I'm probably the ONLY SyTy'er to order 2 Gilbert propshafts for ONE truck, but it isnt because one failed !! Buy the gilbert, keep the U joints greased and never look back.
