front diff seal

on the front diff the driver side axle seal is leaking. i look in the gm manual and there is no direction to change this seal just the passenger side. how do i change the driver side seal

it's done the same as the pass side. might even be the same part #. same type seal the front diff has on the pinion yoke.

The seal is the same on both sides. Remove the axle, pull the old seal out, clean the hole, use a little sealant around the hole and install the new seal. Use some oil on the lip of the seal before putting the axle back in.


Be sure to check the axle for wear when you remove it. It is possible that the axle bearing might have gone bad, causing the seal to leak.
