you definately don't want the Lock right in your front end. It acts like a spool almost. I had one in my 1990 S-10 4x4 in the front end, and I kept destroying idler arms, tie rods, and complete alignment, every time I gouged it in four wheel drive. I even lowered the torsion bars to the point of having my center link and tie rods in a straight line, and I still would destroy the Moog "problem solver" brand new idler arm in a matter of minutes. The tires would toe in towards each other every time. I never knew the true trac was available for the front ends of our little trucks, but I think it would be the way to go.
