found it a mounting tap was loose in dash!!

Are you sure it's not the gap between the dash and passenger side of the windshield. I have seen that on several trucks.

Also seen a few times where they squeakat the radio mount...

These fuckin' things squeak everywhere though.
Mine groans now... seriously.

Damn GM tolerances.

first of all mine is a real pos. i have a bad squeak at idle that gose away in reverse it sounds like it comes from around the middle of the dash, i havent fixed it yet but i belive it is because of my worn out engine mounts letting somthing rub the firewall. the new tahoes and burbans have the same prob, it is a fuel line vibrating aginst the firewall.
