I don't have much time for this Ty anymore as I have another Blk/Blk Ty that I want to take off PNO (planned non-operation since 1998) and revive.
This Ty for sale is mostly stock and in good shape. Doesn't need too much to be a 100% show car. In 2004 I got the car off the original owner, my parents. This was my brothers first car and was picked up new from Bay Buick in San Pedro, CA. We waited and watched it -with the rest of the dealership- as it came off the delivery truck.
On the body there is a small 1" rust spot on the back drv. side 1/4 window under the rubber. The cladding is in very very good condition. All joints line up like factory new. The body is straight and has never been in an accident. The engine has also never been opened. Factory everything, head, cam, intake, turbo. The only thing not OEM is an aluminum boost tube with a HKS BOV [UPDATE: Not Installed as of 8/14/2011], that's it! The OEM rubber boost tube [UPDATE: Installed as of 8/14/2011] goes with the new owner as with anything else taken off the car like the pump for the leveling system.
More Pics and CARFAX Here! [UPDATED 5/16/2011]
Modifications:
-Level 2 BowtieOverdrives Transmission
-Aftermarket front swaybar.
-HKS Boost Gauge.
-K&N Filter in OEM Filter box
-Optima Deep Cycle Yellowtop Battery (made in USA version)
Recent Work:
-Refinished OEM Wheels with gray in depressed areas and red in the logos, clear coated. Very easy to clean.
-Eagle F1 Tires all around.
-New Bilsteins all four
-New passenger side wheel bearing ( ABS tone ring style, have another bearing for driver side; The pass side was making a squeeling noise - solved noise but not an ABS problem mentioned next...)
-Disabled ABS [UPDATE: Fixing w/ Dave P. Almost done as of 8/14/2011] by unplugging it and Removed front sensors from the disc shields (the Ty pulled to the left hard on any braking - The cables/connectors are wrapped in plastic and in the drvr side fender for future re-enabling of the ABS)
-Replaced Original Intake Plastic Tube with another OEM one from SyTy.net member (Turbo swallowed plastic from intake tube- Read issues below)
-New transmission by Bowtie Overdrives, Level 2 with stock style 2050 stall lockup conv.
-New Driver door window motor and Driver window switch
-New AC Blower motor and AC Relay
Issues
-The "Dead Zone" in the steering is too large for my taste. Possibly needs a new bushing or a new box.
-Farts white cloud -very rarely- on start-up (new OEM GM valve seals in bag goes to new owner)
-Click tick tick noise -rarely- [UPDATE: More Common after replacing front axle seal, looking into fix 8/14/2011] when you go up a driveway at an angle or back down. (torsion bar bushings possibly)
-Original Plastic Intake Tube broke sending pieces into the turbo (I replaced the tube and bent back a couple impeller fins. Still puts out 15psi but whistles while it works
I'm a perfectionist pure and simple and I can honestly say there are no issues with the Ty that detracts from it's character. The issues mentioned above for any SyTy owner are minor compared to SyTy engine and transmission problems.
Included (parts not bolted in the Ty/Extras - images below):
-Aftermarket Rear Swaybar. (I removed it because I thought it was making the noise mentioned above.)
-Original Transmission and Hughes TC (as mentioned above).
-Original rear shock level pump.
-New in box Wheel bearing ( ABS tone ring style- for driver side as mentioned above)
-New in box Front Left and Right ABS sensors/Dust Shields (NAPA - has the dust shields with sensors)
-Parts/install receipts
-Original glovebox manual/book
-Original wheel cover key
-HKS BOV on aluminum boost tube
Price is $12,500.00 obo
