Re: Foot Races at the track???

do I hear 60'?

On a side bet,
I had considered organizing Floor Jack races on Friday night in the parking lot.
Run wut ya brung, drive your jack like a scooter around a couple cones and do so with grace you win.
Race the clock or have a panel of judges to keep things "interesting".

Anyone want to sponsor>?

Re: Foot Races at the track???

I'll sponsor 3-4 events with Parking Signs of choice. (Sy Ty SoGT)
I have an interesting idea for the 60' winner... if we do it.
I like the 60' foot race idea... we can all post our "new" 60' times.
Floorjack race sounds interesting but we might have to use comunity jacks.
Remove and replace one wheel after rolling it around the truck is good too.

Let me know and I'll try to have the signs completed for Sunday Morning.

I've got some dark(after sunset) video of people running to their trucks, staging and running the quarter mile.

60' isnt far enough

660' is only like a 200-meter dash.

Renz and I figured out last night that if olympians can do the 100-meter dash in 10 - 11 seconds, then an average SyTy owner (who is actually willing to run) can probably do 200-meters in like 45 seconds

If we wanna do a 100-meter dash, we could also go to the 330' mark, i just dont know if we can get timeslips out of it.

I just figured if we did it at the track, we could actually get a timeslip. otherwise we're gonna have to do elemination rounds at the hotel which could even be more exhausting than just 1 good run ;)

Re: Foot Races at the track???

we'll have to put some tape down at the 1/8 mark or something....to make sure people put their foot down there and trip the beam

I'm in for a "side wager"....Say $5 from each person into the pot?!?!? Winner takes 80% second takes 20% assuming a field of at least 10 people?!?!?

You just gave me more determination to keep hitting the gym... you ALL just made a terrible mistake.

Re: Foot Races at the track???

My foster daughter runs track, an 1/8 mile should take 25-40 seconds for a race. Someone will need to trip the 1/8 trigger, because that would be easy to miss tripping the beam while running.

REGISTRATION!

If you are not registered you are at risk of losing your left testicle.

I mean, you are at risk of not getting a T-Shirt / registration packet.
Those are all being ordered and produced in the weeks leading up to Nats.
We are basing the numbers off of actual registrations plus a small margin that we can afford out of the fund pool. If there are not enough pre-registrations to pay for shirts then we only order what we can afford. Too bad so sad.

A cash pot/entry fee for the foot race doesn't sound bad.
All of this is going to be tentative based on KCIR allowing foot traffic on the track as well as final approval from the planning committee (who signs the track contract) ;) .
