Welcome to FAST, the Florida Association of Syclones and Typhoons.

Keep me up to date when you get your truck. I'll get you on the FL email list and get you hooked up with the locals down in Miami.

Have a great time. I think Poway is way south . Just north of san diego. I was looking at that ty too. Either get another truck or put the money into mine. Stop at a strip bar for me. :) Have a safe trip.

Re: Flying out to CA to Drive to FL in my new Ty

WOW!!!! I made it.. long drive and very but sometimes scary!! We left San Diego 3 pm and ran into a problem in the desert. it was about 10in the shade and was doing like 90 mph and then i lost Fuel presure. pulled over and started to look for a leak and checked the guage and the presure was back. (i later found out that the FPR is behind the Intercooler and was over heating and closing up) so now i now that i can not run the A/C and do 90 mph in the desert at the same time. After the Fuel was flowing i couldnt start the Ty, called Landry and he told me the starter could be hot and to wit .. my wife called a tow truck and was towed for 40 miles to the nearest town. Had the local pep boys change the starter and oil and never looked back. i so much more to tell but i will write about it soon. Just know its a great truck but will need lots of help form you guys to learn all about it.

Thanks to Landry for the help on the phone and selling me a great S.U.V.

Re: Flying out to CA to Drive to FL in my new Ty

I would not drive it! I just recently purchased a 93 Typhoon with 20k miles and I bought it from California. I had it shipped enclosed to PA. Call Larry's auto transport and speak with Lori, a family owned business. Awesome service and a great price. Tell her Rosario sent you. I would rather spend 1,500 dollars then take a risk on driving it over 3k miles. You just bought it and you never know what could happen. It may end up costing you more in repairs and stopping and spending money on hotels, food, gas being 3.50 a gallon. They only get maybe 15 miles a gallon. It will cost a arm and a leg! Ship it enclosed, say yourself the headaches and keep your piece of mind and keep your Ty in one piece as well!! good luck!

I think he said he already made it home. Way to go. Sorry to hear you ran into a bit of trouble, but I guess it's bound to happen. BTW, when we drove my friends from Texas to CA, we got about 19 mpg doing between 70 and 90 pretty much the whole way.

Re: Flying out to CA to Drive to FL in my new Ty

Yeah gas mileage was great i would fill up every 200 or 225 and only be putting in 12 to 14 gallons. i didnt do the math but its better then my old jeep (8 city 12 highway)

And yes l should have transported it, buti loved the drive
