Finally raced RAM SRT-10

Ran into two guys last night driving a red SRT 10 with black wheels. I flaged him down and we pulled over. I was having some kind of boost leak so I wasnt trying to race from a roll when I first saw him. I think it was coming from my BOV since I blocked it off to see what it sounds like ever since Ive been ahving wierd problems. Anyway, we all bsed in the prk l ot for a few and I asked him if he wanted to run up the street and do a full 1`/4 run. He said sure. So we get up there and I get her ready. Didnt seem to be having any issues with the BOV so it felt golden. I spool it up and the light turned green but I wasnt at full boost yet, probably about 13. So I give it an extra second and took off with 17psi. No wheel hop (that I felt) no sputter no boost leaking. I launched when I was at his back bumper I think. I put about 3-4 cars on him out of the hole (already behind) and he never redcovered. By the time I hit the 1/4 mark, I was at about 99MPH. He was still about 3-5 cars back, its hard to tell in the video cause my rear glass was dirty. BUT I GOT IT ON VIDEO!!!!! Ive been waiting a long time for this. Finally!!!

congrats!!!! I cant wait to see te video. Ive been waiting to race one for a long time as well.

What a kill ! ! ! i work at a GMC/Dodge dealer and the dist. rep. from chrysler allways drives one down talken crap and i told him anytime he never takes me up on it so i told him yeah you probably should race what you dont own and i think he got a little pissed. never said anything after that haha

Nice. I've driven these and they are HEAVY and the shifter blows. Nice top end power but not much off the line. Too big and brawny compared to the glove like feel of a Syclone.

the best mod for a rc srt-10 is the driver mod. i know of 2 people in houston who have taken a stock into the 12.7's

12.7 at the track does not equal 12.7 on the street, especially up here with these $#itty roads we have. And that statement just boosts Mike ego even more :lol:

what are some things i can do to my sy to improve performance without having to go into the motor or tranny or the front and rear ends?

i would like to make it quicker than what it is but also keepinng as close to stock as possible

I dont know the track hasnt opened up yet. Havent been for 2 years and last time I went I ran a 14.2. I have come a loooonngg way since then. Im pretty sure Ill nail low 13's high 12's this year. Dont forget we are @ 6000 feet up here.

Yeah, but altitude doesn't effect turbocharged vehicles :roll:

There's someone who works a couple of blocks from me who has one of these Ram/Viper SRT 10's. That same person has a Grand Cherokee SRT8 as well. I don't know if it's a guy or a gal but the trucks are always parked in the same spot M-F. Both Black and never so much as a spot of bird crap on either. They drive the GC more often than the Ram I assume because the Ram is monstrous in size and they have to parallel park it. LOL!! I walk by em almost every day during my lunch time stroll.

Never actually seen one on the move though. I did however see one of those new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S models down by Mariner stadium though. They are supposedly quicker than the SyTy's. Looks just like the regulare Cayenne Turbo save for slightly larger intakes on the grill and the big Turbo S logo on the tail.

Yeah Ive been itching to race one of those just as bad. I raced the non turbo one last year but didnt post about it cause it was pathetic.
