Short notice, but a lot of the GAST members have been chomping at the bit to have a meet this Fall. Since the Shindig is gonna be in Savannah next Fall, let's do something somewhere else. For the sake of time/hassle/money, let's not do an autoX and just go back to the old GAST format of hanging out and drag racing.

Knowing that, 3 locations spring to mind:

Commerce
- Good track, not the best location due to traffic/population/law enforcement/etc... closest drive for most of the GAST members and might see some AL/TN guys show up.

Reynolds
- In the middle of nowhere but it's central-ish to the state, not a lot of traffic/law enforcement, and the track is nice and easy to run at.

Cecil
- Almost to FL, so it's a haul for a lot of us, but we could see some FAST guys attend, there's a Performance Trucks meet there in November (link), not a lot to do in that area unless we stay near Valdosta.

If we do Cecil with the truck group, we have to have it November 18-19, but we could do our own thing whenever......wherever. So, I'll put up a location poll, but you guys throw out ideas on date/etc....

Re: Fall GAST Meet

If the weekend of October 21-23 makes sense, I'm in. I can coordinate it with an NCRS meet in Texas that begins on the 26th. I might even bust-azz and get one of my Syclones ready for a Cross-Country trip. Then again, maybe not.

Just an idea.

If nothing else, def. make the Shindig next year.

Re: Fall GAST Meet

I think Hood, Syo, and Harmon should chose it because we no that you choose a good one.

My bad Syo Your name has slipped my mind....Adam?

Anyway I dont know if you guys have been checking out my build thread but my truck should be leaving here in 3 weeks headed to Sportmachines to be tuned, tubular arm w/ coilovers, and cladding installed. It should be done by November. I would love to meet my truck delivered by Sportmachines (Dameon and Tom) completed to race it around for the weekend. with you guys.

Plus it would be cool to finally meet T-bone......

I would really like it to be in Cecil since it's close and I will be out of money by then

I am kinda leaning toward Atlanta and I want to AutoX with Sportmachines (D and T)to be my pitcrew....LOL

Depends on the final date and my schedule but Atlanta would make it more do-able for me and some other north TN owners.

Re: Fall GAST Meet

I'm seeing a lot of talk about autoX.....unfortunately, guys, if we do this in November or early December, there aren't going to be any regions running SOLO. For financial reasons, we'd need to be a part of a normal event, and Atlanta region stops in October, Buccaneer (Savannah/Jax) region might have one event in November (likely to be cancelled), and the Dixie region (SW GA) stops in October and that event is in Moultrie.....not at SGMP. The only region to have a SOLO event well into November and December is the Middle GA region and theirs takes place in Macon.

So, it's quite unlikely that we'll be seeing any AutoX, hence why I suggested that we focus on drag racing and make it more like an old-school event. However, if you stay up late enough with me, Adam, Pope, and Ian......you'll get your chance to autoX. Might be on a pocketbike at the Farmer's Market, but still fun nonetheless.

Re: Fall GAST Meet

Another thing....we've had some interest in tuning at this meet, so we'll be having a "tuning session" on Saturday where I'll show everyone how to setup and use an Ostrich, WB, and TunerPro RT. We'll go over what to do to get started tuning and how to get the most out of your build. I may try to setup a flat screen in the doorway of the hotel room and just tune a truck at idle (with a long USB cable) from the parking lot......yeah, I think I'll do that. Make a few runs down the street and show you guys the datalog on the tv.

Do you think there might be anyone there that has tuned FAST b4 and could help me out learning to tune mine?

By far...and I do mean, by far....that was the best part of the meet....although the cops showing up to Burger King while autox'ing the parking lot was a close 2nd.
