i would change fuel pressure, maybe lower it.

If you go too low you will get a lean miss.
Repost:::::
I had a problem passing mine last time also.
It to, was running great.

I bought a can of stuff @ Auto zone for passing smog. Not sure if that did anything.
But,,, I had also changed my plugs, car & rotor that had 11,000 miles on them.
Took it back for testing & it passed.

What is you fuel pressure set @?
I know on my truck, If I set it too low like, 38psi it would have a lean miss causing it to fail, bumped it back up to 42-43 psi then it passed.
Make sure to tell them to really heat up the cat.(AKA)light off the cat.

They hold the RPM's to about 2000 RPM for about five minutes,,, then do there testing.

If you just want to know if your Truck is going to fail or pass, w/out the DMV being notified, turn your idle up to 1200 RPM, but @ least you will know your truck will pass or not
.
If it looks like it will pass just turn your idle back down. but keep it close to 1000 RPM.
Good luck

Re: Failed Emissions HELP

that sucks where I live 95 and older vehicles dont need emissions test. Just a cat and no engine codes  . But im sure that c#nt Hillary Clinton will change that too

Re: Failed Emissions HELP

unplug the tan wire under the pass. side. and turn down the fp if you have a AFPR. baby it to the place, pass, and baby it back. It'll run like shit, but it'll pass.

Re: Failed Emissions HELP

Well I haven't tried anything yet due to time restraints.

What about putting my chip on the lowest setting?

highest timing and leanest fuel setting?

It failed under Valet mode

when CO is too high, this indicates that fuel mixture is too rich. ask me how i know, used to be a smog tech.

why dont you just unplug the tan wire and turn down the FP and go pass?

Re: Failed Emissions HELP

Like I said before,,, if you turn down you fuel pressure too low you will get a lean miss & fail.

Also,, you do not want to advance your timeing,, you would need to retard your timeing.
That way it really gets your combustion chambers & valves hot,, so it will burn the unburned fuel.

I don't know what you think i'm saying...im' not saying turn down the FP to create misses and fail. What type of sense would that make. I just said turn it down.

Do a search on unplugging the tan wire and passing emissions. Plenty of people have had success doing it. Its not unpopular. If nothing else it worth a shot and is free. The worse thing that will happen is you fail again.

Re: Failed Emissions HELP

I am saying I turned down my fuel pressure to 37 PSI,I did not think it was missing, could not here it miss, but is showed up as a lean miss (on the printout) when smog testing it.
