External wastegate Q

Im just wondering, for those who have gone with an external wastegate, did you weld shut the stock internal one or just leave it??

I have decided to go with an external due to low boost and accuator mounting issues. so tips or ideas would be cool.

On turbos I've used in the past the flapper was welded shut. I'm not sure if that's changed over the years but am pretty sure that's still the way to roll.

Yah they useally spot weld it shut.. or i seen a pic on here along time ago where someone wired shut theres..
